Like Fiji tourism in February, not much has gone on this month here on the Oceanic blog. It's not for lack of things to do, though. On the contrary, I think our company has as much going on as it ever has and it is making for exciting times.
I'm actually more excited about where the Post Fiji site will go compared to where it is right now. Although there's much to be said for even launching the project, the next few months should be bringing a great deal of functionality to the site, including ecommerce and new customer support features.
Although it has taken a bit longer to get to launch than it probably should have, Post Fiji is very keen to build on this channel and see where it takes them.
The site is in "soft launch" mode now which means that while some content holes get plugged, there's not any marketing activity driving traffic to it. From that perspective, I suppose anyone that clicks through from here should consider themselves guinea pigs.
The highlights of the site as it exists now are definitely the applications developed to calculate postal costs. Although they're "done", we'll be measuring their use closely. Feel free to provide feedback if find them useful. There are some complicated elements to those calculators, as well. Will be interesting to see how well they're used. Nice job to the Oceanic dev team on that work.
Other than that, we're currently in the midst of a number of new projects. LICI Insurance, FNPF, Fiji Development Bank are all on the table now with some very cool functionality built into them as well.
On the offline side, there has been a bit of a slowdown on marketing spend happening w/ our corporate clients in Fiji. There are some exceptions and we've been doing a lot of corporate communications and brand planning work. I think many of the agencies might also be seeing a slowdown. Whether it's just the "February" thing or if this will continue remains to be seen.
Sorry for the absence here...I'll get back to a more regular posting schedule I hope in March. In the meantime, please do visit Post Fiji online and feel free to share your feedback. Thanks to the people that have already provided some useful feedback we're working with.
